Not so long ago, I seemed to be bombarded with sad animal stories on my Facebook newsfeed posted by a handful of animal loving friends. At the time, I found it hard to take in the photos of these abused creatures, but I made the decision that I would read of their plight without deleting the horrific image. There seemed to be no point in reading and forgetting, so I've decided to do my bit for the forgotten creatures of the world by advertising their … [Read More...]
Those who have been affected by Mali the Elephant's plight, will be relieved to know the wheels of political action are moving her cause in the right direction. Initially, it's distressing to know that a vulnerable animal is living in sub-humane conditions. Especially, if this animal is in an enclosure in a foreign country where political communication may be difficult due to language barriers and/or different cultural approaches to animal welfare.

When I was researching ways a person could maximize their health potential with a view to live the longest, healthiest life possible, I began to notice some very useful information. Wherever and whenever we become involved in any healthy activity, the desired outcome seems to alter our being at a molecular level. If we practise yoga, play Isochiral Music, meditate, eat spinach, practise random acts of kindness, or even brush our teeth, we find that … [Read More...]
I must say, I am really enjoying reading Aaron Murakami's The Quantum Key. If you'd like an honest review, I've started a regular account of what I'm learning from him (without giving too much away, of course). Firstly, I believe you don't have to be a scientist to get into his writing. I am an electrical and computer engineer alumni from Cal Poly Pomona. This assisted when looking over the multiple solar panels reviews. I will convey the most important criteria when scouting for … [Read More...]
Dr Robert Puff shares his experience on meditation: I began meditating almost thirty years ago. I think at first I began just out of curiosity. I had been studying meditation in my academic training and learned how science has shown that meditation is very beneficial to us.
When I started meditating I found it to be a very relaxing, peaceful experience. Over time as I grew and discovered that meditation is really helpful for our spiritual … [Read More...]
Do you wonder why sometimes things seem to line up perfectly and other days it feels like you're banging your head against a wall? There's a "massive action" school of thought that encourages you to keep banging until that wall falls down. However, what if there was a way to know where a door of opportunity would open? Wouldn't that be a heck of a lot less pain and stress and much more effective and efficient? In this article, we'll explore … [Read More...]
Tammi Baliszewski, Ph.D. writes a beautiful account of using Art and Creativity for Healing:
What exactly is the effect of creating art? Can painting, singing, dancing, making pottery or poetry really change or heal us? My research and experience has me absolutely convinced it does. In fact, from my perspective, creativity is the most healing tool we have available to claim a more empowered, healthy and fulfilling life.
More than simply … [Read More...]
